Confidently Parent your Child

If any of this sounds familiar, you're in the right place:

Q

Your child seems anxious, clingy, or worried in a way that's hard to soothe

Q

Meltdowns or anger have the whole house walking on eggshells

Q

Something changed such as divorce, loss, or a move, and they're not okay

Q

They won't talk to you, and you can feel the distance growing

Q

School says there's a problem, and you're not sure where to turn

Q

You've tried everything you can think of, and you're tired.

Children don't always have the words for what they're carrying. So they show us instead in their play, their behavior, and their bodies.

Our child clinicians are trained to meet kids in their own language. Through play, art, and a relationship built at the child's pace, we help children make sense of what they feel and find steadier ground. The goal isn't to fix a child who's broken, it's to help a child who's overwhelmed find their footing again.

And because a child lives inside a family, we never work with them as if they exist in isolation. What's happening at home, at school, and between the people they love is part of the picture, and part of the healing.

FAQ’s ABOUT CHILD COUNSELING

What Is A Child Therapist?

Child therapists, or child psychologists, specialize in treating children with behavioral, emotional, or mental disorders.

These highly trained professionals may work in a clinical setting in private practices, as part of a medical team, or in a school environment.

Many child therapists are trained play therapists. Play therapy allows trained mental health practitioners who specialize in play therapy, to assess and understand children’s play.

Does Insurance Cover Child Therapy?

Yes, insurance often covers child counseling. Silver River Counseling, however, is a private pay practice which means we are considered out-of-network, and payment is given at the time of service.

NOTE: We do not bill insurance. It is up to the client to seek potential reimbursement from their insurance provider.

Can Therapy with Children Be Online?

Absolutely! While it’s ideal to have counseling sessions with children in-person, we can accommodate telehealth sessions with kiddos.
